Stef King is a Perth photographer whose work moves from intimate portrait sessions to global ad campaigns — and has done so for 25 years.

In 2025 she was named PADC Photographer of the Year. Her portraits have been exhibited at the Australian National Portrait Gallery and the Head On Photo Festival, and she is a Lucie Foundation winner.

Her commercial work runs from beauty campaigns in Asia to mine sites in the Pilbara, from the West Australian Ballet mid-leap to athletes mid-stride.

Disney, Apple, Nikon, Rio Tinto, Tourism Australia, Art Gallery WA, Crown Resorts, Northern Star Resources and the ABC are among the brands she works with. Her images have appeared in Harper's Bazaar, the Australian Financial Review, The Australian, The Guardian, The Times UK, Forbes and Qantas Magazine.

What people return for is harder to put in a portfolio. Stef puts subjects at ease - premiers, supermodels, surgeons, dancers, athletes - and the picture lives in what's left when the guard drops.

She shoots from her studio at 177 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco, and on location worldwide. She is represented across Australia and internationally by Flint Productions.
