Recently I was entrusted by The West Australia Ballet to shoot some Character Portraits for their upcoming show “Romeo & Juliet” who doesn’t love this time old tale of tragic Love..

Get acquainted with the characters of Romeo & Juliet.


From Baz Luhrmann's 1996 film to Duke Ellington's Such Sweet Thunder, Shakespeare's tragic tale of star-crossed lovers has been recreated countless times throughout history.

But what makes this production of Romeo & Juliet so unique, is having a female choreographer at the helm.

In Andrea Schermoly's re-imagining of Romeo & Juliet, the female roles are fully developed characters. In particular, she has focussed on Juliet's strength and determination in the face of oppressive societal norms.
